Format:
18 holes stroke play. Contestants will play from the Blue tee markers wherever they are situated. Qualifiers will advance to the Championship proper at Lake Merced Golf Club, June 19-24, 2023. The number of spots available at each qualifying site will be determined based on the total number of entrants and the final field at each site. Final number of spots will be available from the Committee on the day of qualifying.
Competition Schedule:
Starting times will start at 7:30 AM off Hole #1. Players should be at their assigned tee immediately following the group in front of them. Please do not congregate near the starting tees. Pairings will be posted Friday, May 19th.
Practice Round Information:
Practice round are available, and arrangements can be made by calling the golf shop.
Food and Beverage Availability:
The café at Riverside Golf Course will be open at 6:30 am and food will be available from their menu.
Practice Facilities: Range balls are provided for players during competition rounds at no cost. The golf shop and practice range will open at 6:30 am.
Cart Information:
The use of automatic transportation is prohibited for ALL play. Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk. Pull carts are permitted. Spectator carts are prohibited.
Refund Policy:
Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION
Rules Information:
The Rules of Golf effective January 2023 is in effect and are supplemented by the 2023 CGA Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site. It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.
Scoring: Players must download the GolfGenius app. At least one player in the group will be assigned to keep scores for all players in the group. A scorecard will be provided by the starter and will be the official scorecard. The electronic scoring is unofficial and is used for live leaderboard purposes only.
Deciding Ties: All ties for the final qualifying spots and/or position of alternates will be broken by the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures, Section 5A(6)).
Prohibition on Certain Types of Shoes:
The Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Model Local Rule G-7.
